A peer-to-peer learning experience with like-minded managers. 

Our "Lead - Excellence in Leadership" programme is designed for practising middle and senior managers, helping them to further develop their skills and experience. 

A comprehensive learning experience, delivered in a highly engaging group setting, with a focus on effective leadership, teams, coaching, innovation, change and the new world we work in.

The three month programme consists of:

  • 2 hour virtual induction
  • 5 classroom workshops
  • ILM registration, two assignments and certification
  • ILM Studying membership
  • Comprehensive learning materials

At the end of this programme managers will be able to:

  • Identify and evaluate the appropriateness and suitability of leadership styles within their own organisation. 
  • Analyse and assess their own leadership styles and impact they have
  • Foster visionary leadership to support their team and organisational growth
  • Understand how coaching can contribute to both individual and organisational effectiveness and performance
  • Understand the need for innovation and change management within an organisation
  • Articulate the importance of innovation and change to their team

Your Induction to ILM Level 5

The induction session sets the stage for a successful and interactive learning experience. Participants will be introduced to the course objectives, structure and expectations and will receive information about the course scheduled, including important dates, and assessment information. They will also be informed about the resources available to support their journey. 

Day 1 & 2 - Becoming an Effective Leader

Develop knowledge and understanding of effective leadership as required by a practising or potential middle manager.

Objectives:

  • Evaluate own ability to use a range of leadership styles, in different situations and with different tyles of people to fulfil their leadership role
  • Use theories of emotional intelligence to review the effect of emotions on own and others performance
  • Review own ability to set direction and communicate this to others
  • Review own ability to motivate, delegate and empower others
  • Produce a personal development plan to improve own ability to lead

Day 3 - Coaching for Performance

Learn how to coach and develop individuals on your team, or in the wider business, to improve performance.

Objectives:

  • Understand the Coaching process
  • Understand different coaching styles & techniques
  • How to manage performance one-to-one
  • Overcoming defensive behaviour
  • Recognising a coaching opportunity in the workplace

Day 4 & 5 - Leading Innovation & Change

Develop an understanding of ways to manage, communicate and lead innovation and change in your organisation.

Objectives

  • Understand the need for innovation and change management with an organisation
  • Be able to propose innovative solutions to improve organisational performance
  • Be able to lead and manage change within an organisation
  • Create a change management plan that is designed to meet stakeholders’ expectations
