Mentoring Skills Course

Developing strong mentoring skills takes time and practice, but it can be a rewarding experience for both the mentor and mentee.

This Mentoring Skills course is designed to help individuals develop the skills and techniques necessary to become an effective mentor. 

By the end of this course you will have a solid understanding of mentoring skills, and will be able to develop and implement a successful mentoring program. You will also have the opportunity to connect with other mentors and learn from their experiences.

Content includes:

• What is mentoring: Introduction to the concept of mentoring and provide an understanding of the roles and responsibilities of a mentor.
• Communication skills: The key to effective mentoring is communication. Learn communication skills such as active listening, questioning techniques, and providing feedback.
• Building relationships: Understand how to build a positive and productive relationship with your mentee. You will learn techniques to build rapport, establish trust, and set goals.
• Developing your mentee: Learn how to assess your mentee's strengths and areas for development. You will learn techniques to guide your mentee's growth and development and how to identify opportunities for growth.
• Mentoring challenges: Mentoring can be challenging. You will learn how to address common mentoring challenges such as managing expectations, handling difficult conversations, and dealing with conflicts.
• Diversity and inclusion: Learn how to be an inclusive mentor, and how to mentor individuals from diverse backgrounds.
• Ethics: Mentoring requires ethical conduct. You will learn about the ethical considerations of mentoring and how to ensure you are mentoring ethically.
