DSV has a presence in more than 60 countries including the UK employing around 20,000 people. In Manchester, 250 people work in its air freight, courier and sea freight area of the business. DSV had identified a need to develop its managers and wanted to provide staff with management development training to establish a consistent style across the business.
The Operations Director for the North West was keen to ensure that managers were supported in their continual development, enabling them to make considered decisions, provide consistent leadership and build on their experiences.

Total Excellence Centre was chosen to work in partnership with DSV to design and deliver a tailored Management Development Programme to develop the skill sets of the management team and re-energise them to meet future business challenges.
Crucially, time was invested before the training programme commenced to decide the content and this proved invaluable as it ensured that Total Excellence Centre fully understood the needs and expectations of the business.
Sessions focused on how to create a culture of learning to work together in a more effective and positive way, while ensuring that managers recognised the importance of people management as opposed to task management.
Total Excellence Centre designed and delivered a tailormade training programme to meet the individual needs of the managers of DSV, which included:

As a result of the training delivered by Total Excellence Centre, DSV is rolling out a new set of values and initiatives within the business, helping managers learn how to gain the best from their staff and offer their employees more job satisfaction, which in turn increases productivity.
